Cluster-based industrial development in Africa: Case studies in Ghana, Kenya, and Ethiopia

要旨：東アジア諸国に続いて東南アジア諸国の多くが経済発展に成功し、インドでも目覚しい発展が起こっている。アジアの経済発展を牽引してきた産業発展は、貧困にあえぐアフリカ諸国でもすでに始まっている。問題はいかにしてそれを本格化させるかである。エチオピアの革靴製造業およびガーナとケニアの金属加工業の集積地で行ってきたケーススタディをもとに、アフリカにおける産業発展戦略を考察したい。
要旨：交通ネットワーク均衡モデルの動的モデルおよび確率モデルについて述べる。実用的な動的モデルとして、これまでに時間帯別配分モデルが提案されている。しかし、既存のモデルでは、時間帯間での交通量の扱いに問題があるものが多い。本研究では、リンク上の交通量が次の時間帯に残留することによって、交通ネットワーク上で混雑の時間・空間移動を記述することが可能な時間帯別配分モデルを提案する。そして、解の存在及び一意性を示す。現実の交通ネットワークでは、様々な要因によりその交通量や旅行時間は日々変動 している。事故や災害などが生じていない通常の交通状況下では、交通量・旅行時間の変動の主要な原因の一つは、交通需要の変動である。本研究では、交通需要の確率変動による交通量及び旅行時間が確率的に変動する確率的な交通ネットワーク均衡モデルを提案する。このモデルは現実の交通ネットワークの不確実性や時間信頼性の評価を可能とするものである。また、それを用いたパラメータ推定法に浮いても述べる。

Managerial incentives and international trade

要旨：This paper constructs a model in which international trade influences on managerial incentives and productivities of firms. We show that firms tend to offer high incentive scheme to their agents, if the fixed costs to export their products are low. We also show that the tendency to offer high incentive scheme does not monotonically diminish with the degree of product differentiation.

Agglomeration and the effect of income tax with imperfect labour market

要旨：This paper establishes a two-country model with imperfection of labour and product markets, which is unionized labour market with unemployment and monopolistic competition in product market. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of labour income tax and bargaining power of trade union on firms' location choices. We show that, under symmetric regions and symmetric distribution of firms, stronger bargaining power and larger labour income tax in each region induce symmetric distribution more unstable and urge to agglomerate into one region.
