要旨：二国間の交易財を輸送する交通インフラストラクチャの投資水準と料金の決定に関する代替的な方式の評価を行う。ここでは以下の4通りを考える。
(1)無料金、投資は二国政府がそれぞれ選択
(2)料金と投資水準を二国政府がそれぞれ選択
(3)単一の民間業者が利潤最大化する料金と投資水準を選択
(4)輸送費用を最小化する料金と投資水準を提示する企業が運営
各方式の経済厚生を計算し、その優劣を比較する。

The effects of income inequality and demand structure in an R&D-based growth model

要旨：We examine the effect of the income inequality on the economic growth by focusing on the effects of the income inequality on the demand structure. We introduce a non-homothetic preference into an R&D-based growth model and examine the growth effect of the income distribution. We show that an increase in the income inequality induces the demand shift away from manufacturing goods. The decreased demand for manufacturing goods reduces the incentive for R&D, and then decelerates the economic growth. We also examine the effects of the income redistribution policy.

要旨：東アジア諸国に続いて東南アジア諸国の多くが経済発展に成功し、インドでも目覚しい発展が起こっている。アジアの経済発展を牽引してきた産業発展は、貧困にあえぐアフリカ諸国でもすでに始まっている。問題はいかにしてそれを本格化させるかである。エチオピアの革靴製造業およびガーナとケニアの金属加工業の集積地で行ってきたケーススタディをもとに、アフリカにおける産業発展戦略を考察したい。
