About my research

I am an applied microeconomist interested in how institutions shape economic life. My research focuses on property rights, and examines how the rules of ownership and control influence development, environmental outcomes, and inequality. Studying both historical and modern settings, I show how institutions shape incentives and behavior, helping us understand the forces that drive long-run economic change.
