About the Complex System Research Unit
Kyoto University takes pride in its stellar faculty, which has achieved international excellence in a wide range of research fields. In order to keep researchers capable of further advancing our research and resolving increasingly complicated and diverse issues, we need to adopt a collaborative approach to the common theme of “complex system,” free from the existing boundaries that separate the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
In order to facilitate an interdisciplinary and international approach to research themes, we established the International Research Unit of Integrated Complex System Science. Our research unit has three divisions; Mathematical Science, Physical Science, and Life Science. With these three fields, we aim to conduct creative and original research and proceed from theory to practice.
